There are very few things on earth like Lalique crystal.
True, there are many other names in the world of art glass and crystal,
but few are as sought-after as the works of the Parisian-born Lalique,
named for its founder René Lalique. At the height of his career in 1900,
Lalique had created jewellery pieces for such prestigious names as
Cartier, Jacta and Boucheron, as well as monumental pieces for ocean
liners and cathedrals, and his company continues to do so today.
His creations were pure and geometrical, yet softened with natural
images of wildlife and the female form that brought spirit to each piece
he created. Many tried to imitate his gracious works – and failed.
You’ll understand why, when you see a piece of Lalique crystal with your
own eyes.
The spectacular rows of plane trees lining “the most beautiful Avenue of the World” inspired the design of the finely engraved crystal leaves that adorn the Champs-Elysées bowl, designed by Marc Lalique in 1951. This sculpture of light and crystal captures the very essence of Paris.
